Partnering with Healy Wholesale, NoDa Brewing Company brands will now be available in Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, and Scotland counties. “Healy Wholesale is proud to announce a partnership between NoDa Brewing Company and Healy Wholesale of Fayetteville, NC. This will allow Healy Wholesale to represent the NoDa Brewing brands throughout our ten county area,” Mac Healy, President of Healy Wholesale stated. “We have followed NoDa Brewing Company and their brands for some time now; it is a great honor to bring these fine brands to our customers. Many of our consumers have traveled to Charlotte to try NoDa Brewing’s high quality beers at their brewery and we are thrilled that they can now enjoy them at their favorite local location.” “We are excited to announce our new partnership with our good friends at Healy Wholesale,” said Todd Ford, Founder/Co-Owner of NoDa Brewing Company. “This seemed like a partnership destined to occur from the start. • North End Taproom Grand Opening

< Previous Next > North End Taproom Grand Opening October 1, 2015 See the original article here. When Todd and Suzie Ford opened NoDa Brewing Co. in 2011, they located in the NoDa neighborhood because they felt a connection with Charlotte’s art district. Suzie often emphasizes the artistic side of brewing, likening the raw ingredients they work with – hops, barley, water and yeast – to an artist’s paints. When they decided to build their second brewery at 2921 N. Tryon St., it wasn’t necessarily due to the charm of the surrounding neighborhood. The building is just a little more than a mile from the original location, but in some ways it feels a world away. The scenery begins to change on the way from the original brewery to the new one. Gone are the bars, restaurants, coffee shops and galleries that call NoDa home, replaced with garages, auto body shops and small strip malls. Ever the artists, the Fords see a blank canvas. They think their brewery, as well as other new businesses to come, can bring new life to the neighborhood. “We’ve already seen that over here,” said Suzie Ford, who notes that others have already purchased nearby parcels. “The city has a vision for this area, officially calling it North End now. They’re really trying to develop it." North End might not have the cachet of two neighborhoods with similar names, NoDa and South End, but it could one day. In addition to the city’s commitment to the area, one of the reasons the Fords and so many others are investing in North End is due to the light rail, which will eventually have a stop nearby at 36th and North Tryon streets. There are also plans to continue the Little Sugar Creek Greenway into the area. But what the North Tryon building really offers – and what the Fords have so desperately needed in recent years – is space. At 32,000 square feet, it has almost three times the space of the original location. More importantly, the building’s ceiling is tall enough to support the new 240-barrel fermenters and brite tanks, which dwarf the 60-barrel tanks at the old facility. The brewery has experienced rapid growth since opening in 2011, much of which can be attributed to its Hop Drop 'N Roll winning a gold medal at the World Beer Cup in 2014. That was shortly after the brewery started canning the beer, and they’ve struggled to keep up with demand ever since. A new canning line capable of 141 cans a minute will help them get more of that beer and the others to market. “We would not be here, I don’t believe, if we had not won the medal,” said Suzie Ford. “We would have still been very busy, but I don’t think we would have had the need to build this facility yet." No matter what the surrounding neighborhood is like, the Fords have taken great care to ensure the new building contains the same feel as the old one, while still retaining much of the building’s own character (it previously housed a roofing company, but before that was home to a vinegar plant). Inside the taproom, bright green and orange walls provide some contrast against the old weathered white brick. The building’s original windows remain, giving the area plenty of natural light. Visitors can sit at the bar, made from the wood reclaimed from the second and third floors in what is now the brewhouse area, at church pews or in a lounge-style area with couches and coffee tables. And yes, their artistic sensibilities are on full display at the new location. At the main entrance, a mural of a tulip glass greets visitors. Beside the bar, another mural features all of the brewery’s current employees (and brew dogs). And painted by the restrooms is the pair of hula dancers that graces the brewery’s cans of Coco Loco Porter.

  • NoDa Brewing Company unveils exciting brand refresh for a new era

< Previous Next > NoDa Brewing Company unveils exciting brand refresh for a new era February 12, 2024 This news comes as NoDa nears completion of major facility upgrades; follows significant shift in distribution practices CHARLOTTE, N.C. (February 12, 2024 ) – NoDa Brewing Company , one of Charlotte’s pioneering breweries, announces a significant brand refresh, marking a new era for the popular Queen City craft beer company. This brand refresh represents a strategic move by NoDa Brewing Co. to attract both younger consumers and newcomers to craft beer, while still appealing to their core customers. With the ambition of becoming “the beer of the Carolinas,” NoDa Brewing Co. is extending its reach beyond traditional craft enthusiasts. The company undertook a deliberate and creative process beginning in October 2022 to invigorate its brand, aiming to connect with a wider and more diverse audience. “Our brand was feeling a bit dated and we felt like we needed something that was a better reflection of the future we envision,” says Jacob Virgil, director of strategic development. "We're breathing new life into the brand to be more inclusive and appealing to all, from casual beer drinkers to devoted craft aficionados.” The refresh features a fresh, bold visual identity. NoDa Brewing Co.’s logo has been redesigned for clarity and impact. Beer packaging will showcase vibrant colors and artistic illustrations, with half of the can dedicated to the beer's name and the other half to new artwork. This change emphasizes the artsy and edgy qualities of the brewery’s namesake neighborhood. Despite these visual changes, the company’s mission, vision and values remain unchanged. "We are the same brewery, making the same great beer, just with a new look," Virgil emphasizes. The decision for this refresh was fueled by comprehensive research and feedback, conducted in partnership with CODO Design, an Indianapolis-based food and beverage branding firm. Customers can expect to see new packaging rolling out this month. NoDa Brewing Co. will seamlessly transition to the new design, utilizing existing inventory before fully adopting the new packaging. To mark this milestone, the brewery will host a party on Saturday, February 17, where customers will enjoy half-priced draft beers all day, entertainment, like a car smash, and more, plus a chance to win free beer for a year. Visit NoDa’s event page for more details: nodabrewing.com/events . In addition to the brand refresh, the brewery is nearing completion of 16,000 square feet of dry storage and additional dock space for shipping and receiving. “In 2023, we grew almost 25% in volume of beer sold,” explains Virgil. “We’ve been stretched to the point of breaking at the peak of the growth. Every day is a giant game of supply chain Tetris. We plan to continue growing in 2024 and beyond, and this space will allow us to do that so we can better serve our customers across the Carolinas.” This news follows the company’s strategic shift in distribution in the Raleigh Durham area last year and the Charlotte area this year to accommodate its rapid growth throughout the Carolinas. • Black Is Beautiful Beer Initiative

< Previous Next > Black Is Beautiful Beer Initiative June 9, 2020 We brew beer. Beer is our love language and it is how we communicate what we are passionate about. Sometimes being passionate is not enough. Sometimes you need to step up and do more. For us, that time is now. Weathered Souls Brewing is spearheading a collaboration project called Black is Beautiful. This initiative’s purpose is for breweries across the country to come together for one common purpose: The Black is Beautiful Initiative is to bring a collaborative effort among the brewing community and its customers, in an attempt to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily. It is our mission to bridge the gap that has been around for ages and provide a platform to show that the brewing community is an inclusive place for everyone of any color. We are asking for all breweries and brewers far and wide to raise a glass with us in unison and participate in this collaboration. NoDa Brewing is brewing our version of Black is Beautiful and releasing it on draft and in cans on Friday, July 31st. Beer is what we do to help our community and those in need. But we can do more than just donate $1 per pint or a percentage of sales or profits. Even giving 100% of sales would not be enough. Instead, we have donated $10,000 to Emancipate NC . And we will not stop there, this is only the beginning.
