Stock Ale Release

Stock Ale is an English strong ale classic style.

A little history: Think of this Stock Ale as the predecessor of the English Barleywine and the contemporary to the Olde Ale style. The term "stock ale" refers to stronger beers that could hold up well over time and be added to a pub's lineup either to average out lower ABV beers or to be a more exclusive offer to higher-paying patrons.

About the beer: Our Stock Ale is hopped with English Challenger hops and utilizes English Maris Otter, English Torrified Wheat, and malted Oats giving it a great body and clean hop character. The beer is boiled for 3.5 hours to help caramelize and reduce down the wort to hit the strong ABV and the flavor is nuanced with dark fruit notes from the English yeast. It's a perfect hardy beer for the colder months of the year.
